Blaine Capatch arrived on the "geek" scene
many years ago by hitting the stand-up comedy circuit in his hometown
of Baltimore (circa 1985). After slugging it out in Howard Johnson lounges
and airport snack bars across the country for nearly a decade, Capatch
is now the new host of COMEDY CENTRAL's pop-culture trivia game show,
"Beat The Geeks."
Before his new role as host, Capatch moved from Baltimore to San Francisco
and began performing exclusively in the Bay Area for three years and traveling
to Los Angeles occasionally to work on various projects such as "Food
For Thought," "Mission to Mars" and "The Martin Short
Show." He has also written with fellow comedian and friend Patton
Oswalt for COMEDY CENTRAL. Attempting to broaden his exposure in entertainment,
Capatch has appeared on virtually every stand-up comedy show there is.
Eventually, he landed a writing gig on FOX's "Mad TV" and became
a permanent Los Angeles resident.
In addition to writing for the WB's "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,"
Capatch can also be seen performing stand-up comedy at clubs all around
the country.
